Reports & Automations — Excel Exports, Smarter Scheduling

Export to Excel

Alongside PDF and PowerPoint, you can now generate reports as formatted Excel workbooks — both from the manual “Generate Report” flow and as an automation step.

Filters Now Carry Through to Exports

Dashboard filters are no longer left behind when you generate a report or ask a question about a dashboard. Whatever filters are applied (or explicitly selected) now flow into PDF, PowerPoint, and Excel exports, and into AI-powered dashboard Q&A — so the output matches the data slice you actually meant to share.

More Control Over Scheduled Reports

Scheduled dashboard reports now let you:
  • Choose the output format: PDF, PowerPoint, Excel, or an AI-written summary
  • Set the schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly) and time of day
  • Specify recipient emails
  • Override the AI prompt used to generate the report
  • Apply dashboard filters to the scheduled export

Fixed: Weekly/Monthly/Yearly Schedules Not Firing

Scheduled automations set to run weekly, monthly, or yearly could silently never trigger because the time-of-day setting wasn’t being collected for anything but daily schedules. These now fire correctly at their configured time.

Custom HTML Emails

The email step in automations can now send fully custom HTML content, instead of only the standard branded template — useful for tailored alerts and stakeholder updates.

Clearer Action Names

A few automation actions were renamed for clarity: “Make Pdf” → PDF from Dashboard, “Make Ppt” → PPT from Dashboard, and “Zapier” → Webhook. Existing automations keep working as-is. Each action also now has its own distinct icon instead of a shared placeholder.

Dashboards

Take a Snapshot

A new Take a Snapshot option in the Share menu lets you generate a quick, no-AI PDF export of a dashboard in one click.

Data Sources

Fixed: Mongo Date Filters Returning No Results

Dashboards backed by MongoDB could silently return zero rows when filtering on a date field, due to a mismatch between how dates are stored and how filters were querying them. Date filters on Mongo-backed dashboards now return the correct matching records.
